How Much Does it Cost to Use SMS with MyRedFlare
The basic charge, per SMS message, is 30 Australian cents and this covers
message delivery anywhere in the world.
This is (very) approximately 25 US cents, 0.20 Euro, or 12 UK pence per message.

Our SMS service is a "user pays" system. Each SMS message sent by MyRedFlare deducts one SMS credit from your account. This covers the cost of us sending and receiving messages to you and your Trusted Contacts across our global SMS network.
How Much Does it cost each time I use MyRedFlare?
That varies depends on how you use MyRedFlare. Every time you send an SMS command our SARWATCH system will send you an SMS message confirming your command, for which your account will be debited 1 SMS credit. Any time our SARWATCH system sends you an SMS message related to your SARWATCH Alert Time (i.e. 1 hour warning, Alert Message Sent warning etc.) or if an Alert Message is sent via SMS to one of your Trusted Contacts your account will also be debited 1 SMS credit.
It is therefore obvious that if you fail to Disarm SARWATCH and you have specified SMS messaging be used, that your account will be debited for more SMS credits than if you remember to disarm SARWATCH in time.
Minimum SMS Credit Balance
Because the number of SMS messages sent increases if you fail to Disarm our SARWATCH system it is recommended that you maintain a minimum SMS credit balance of 8 credits prior to Arming SARWATCH so that all eventualities can be covered. If you run out of SMS credits MyRedFlare will not send SMS messages on your behalf, but your normal email notifications will be unaffected.
Other Associated Costs
When you send MyRedFlare an SMS message your mobile phone service provider will charge you to send that message. This cost varies depending on where you are, and which network you use.
Note that our inbound SMS number is an Australian number, so you may be charged a bit more for an internaional SMS than one sent to a number in your own country. Check with your mobile service provider for details.
Some examples of SMS usage costs...
Example 1: You Arm MyRedFlare using the website, and DISARM using SMS more than one hour before your Alert Time.
Your MyRedFlare cost is only 1 SMS credit (being for the DISARM CONFIRMATION message we will send you).
Note: we will send a reminder SMS 1 hour before your Alert Time if you haven't disarmed by then.
The MyRedFlare SMS cost for this example is as follows:

Example 2: You have specified that both of your contacts are to receive SMS alerts if an Alert Message is sent. You set your Itinerary using the website, but elect to Arm the system using your mobile once you know what time you are leaving. Unfortunately you are not able to disarm the system before your alert time (perhaps you forgot?).
The MyRedFlare SMS cost for this example is as follows:
